What You Need to Understand Before You Decide to Work From Home in Amarillo

By Robin Gonzales

I have lived in the city of Amarillo for 22 years now and still love this friendly, little "big-town." You can't ask for greater people, more beautiful skies, or amazingly colorful sunsets! Amarillo is the 14th-largest city in the state of Texas and the largest in the Texas Panhandle.

The city is also known as "The Yellow Rose of Texas" (as the city takes its name from the Spanish word for yellow), and most recently "Rotor City, USA" for its V-22 Osprey hybrid aircraft assembly plant, Pantex. The population of Amarillo is about 200, 000 wonderful, friendly folks. The unemployment rate in Amarillo, Tx is only 5.5% compared to the national average of 6.9%.

Each person I talk to about their employment or small business is having a hard time making ends meet, much less putting away something for the future. They certainly have no peace about retirement plans as 401 K retirements are dropping more and more each year.

According to the 2000 United States Census, 20.5% of all adults over the age of 25 in Amarillo have obtained a bachelor's degree, as compared to a national average of 24.4% of adults over 25. Yet, more and more people are looking into work from home jobs in Amarillo to supplement their income or to replace their income completely.

Here's a very interesting fact: Entrepreneur Magazine stated that $427 billion dollars are generated by home based businesses. That's right, BILLIONS of dollars! Does that fact have you thinking about the possibility of you bringing in a slice of that, working from your home in Amarillo?

What bothers you the most about your job now? The boss, the co-workers, the work environment? The early morning alarm clock, horrible traffic, getting home too tired to do anything with your loved ones? Could it be the activities of your children you have had to miss?

Maybe it's all the extra costs associated with being away from home the majority of the time. You might just want to have a little extra time to devote to your church, charity, or hobbies. Maybe...you have always dreamed of running your own company, being your own boss, and truly earning the income you have always dreamed of, while helping and empowering others to do the same. Sounds great!

So, where do you begin? What do you choose to do from the comfort of your own home? Hmmm, let's see there's stuffing envelopes. I don't need to invest in more hand lotion for dry hands, and paper cuts really sting. Data entry? I think I'd fall asleep after a minute or two. Transcription? I don't know maybe...but how do any of these jobs change people's lives?

Now, don't get me wrong. None of the above mentioned activities are wrong, along with the hundreds of other work from home opportunities. But, the question is- what do you hope to gain from your work from home opportunity?

I would suggest finding a true opportunity that allows you to create your own business, your own company, but still allows you to leverage the expertise and personnel of an established company. It is vitally important to be able to plug into a system that gives you a virtual back office, an email autoresponder, your personal websites and capture pages, and offers continual training that you can access when it is convenient to your schedule.

Since I live in Amarillo, I can certainly provide personal coaching and training for those on my team. You need to find a company that has no conflicts of interest, that is established and has alliances with the world's leading experts in your niche, and is run with the integrity with which you will run your home business.

The more you give, the more blessings and success you will have. Your business should also be providing others with the same opportunity to change their lives for the better. You need to build a team of people with the same goals of eliminating debt, living by cash instead of credit, and building a real nest egg for the future, not relying on the instability of Wall Street. Working from home in Amarillo is possible, and you must do your due diligence in seeking out the perfect opportunity for you. To your success!
